Eye For Film >> Movies >> Guilty By Nature (2006) Film Review
Who would have thought a year in the life of a plant could be so interesting? Jospeh Barnett brings a heightened sense of reality to his engaging short film with the use of extreme close ups and exaggerated sound.
We watch as the plants sit in a nursery, the seasons pass, one falls over, people tend them. This may not sound particularly enthralling but by focussing so intently on the minutae of the nursery Barnett creates a drama on the nature of existence, which is made all the more accomplished by its lack of actors. Delightfully disorientating.
